Flowers at home

A couple of days ago I took some shots of some multi-colored daisies at home.  I used available (overhead) lighting, and my 24L2.  I was going to try to get some macro shots with it via Kenko auto extension tubes, but my smallest extension of 12mm made the maximum focusing distance so short that the flowers would have to be past the front element of the lens.  So much for that idea.

I’m trying to get myself more disciplined about using the RGB histogram when shooting.  The plain histogram (and blinking highlights display) lies about blown color channels.  In two of these shots, there are large areas where the red channel is blown out, but since it didn’t blink on camera, I didn’t think about that possibility.  RAW is a wonderful thing, but it unfortunately always has its limits.
